Children
Our children’s groups offer children a safe and supportive environment to work through their grief. We honor each child’s individuality in their process of dealing with the death of a loved one. Our groups focus on support rather than therapy, and we use a variety of mediums so each child can freely choose what helps most. Our counselors and trained adult facilitators spend time with the children, both individually and in groups, offering reflection and support regarding their grief. Children share memories, bring in pictures of their loved ones and talk about funerals and family changes. Our groups have themes that the children themselves often ask to talk about, such as family changes or questions around the cause of death. We offer year-round support. Please call The Healing Center at (206) 523-1206 for registration information and check our calendar for group dates and times.
